What is WIC?

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutritional Supplement Program
WIC is a nutrition education program offering healthy foods and other services free of charge. The WIC program helps many families (single parents, married, working, not working, and foster parents).

The WIC program is an equal opportunity provider.

Who can be on WIC and for how long?

  • Pregnant women – During your pregnancy and up to 6 weeks after your baby is born.
  • Breastfeeding mothers – You can be on WIC up to one year after your baby is born if you continue to breastfeed.
  • New mothers not breastfeeding – You can be on WIC up to 6 months after your baby is born.
  • Infants – Up to one year of age.
  • Children – From age one year to 5 years old. Children will be evaluated every 6 months.
